This Privacy Notice explains how TallNBurly ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use the QuickByte web application and related services (the "Service"). TallNBurly is the data controller for the personal data described below.
1. Personal data we collect
- Account data: email address, login credentials, authentication identifiers.
- Profile and preferences: ZIP code, selected grocery stores, default serving size, family-friendly toggle.
- Usage and content: recipes you view or save, suggestions you submit, in-app interactions.
- Communications: messages you send us via support or feedback channels.
- Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, log data, approximate location derived from IP.
- Cookies and similar technologies: small files used to keep you signed in and to operate the Service.
Payment card details are collected and processed directly by our payment provider, Paddle, and are not stored on our servers.
2. How we use your data and legal bases
- To provide the Service (performance of a contract): create your account, personalize recipes, deliver subscription features.
- To process payments and subscriptions (performance of a contract): share necessary data with Paddle as Merchant of Record.
- To secure the Service (legitimate interests): detect fraud and abuse, monitor security.
- To improve the Service (legitimate interests): understand how features are used and fix bugs.
- To send transactional emails (performance of a contract): welcome emails, account notifications, billing notices.
- To comply with law (legal obligation): respond to lawful requests and meet record-keeping requirements.
- Marketing emails (consent, where required): only if you opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
3. How we share your data
We share personal data only with the following categories of recipients:
- Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, for payment processing, subscription management, tax compliance, invoicing, and customer service related to your order.
- Service providers and subprocessors we rely on to run the Service: hosting and infrastructure, database, authentication, email delivery, analytics, and support tooling.
- Map and location providers (such as Google Maps) when you look up nearby stores.
- Professional advisers, such as legal or accounting professionals, where strictly necessary.
- Authorities, where required by law or to protect our rights.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. International transfers
Some of our service providers may process your data outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, we put in place appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms) to protect your data.
5. Data retention
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed we delete or anonymise it.
6. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Where you are in the UK or EEA, you have additional rights under the UK GDPR / GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. We will respond to your request within one month.

7. Security

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. We may also use analytics cookies to understand how the Service is used. Where required by law we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.
9. Children
The Service is not directed at children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice where appropriate.
